Edition 2017

The finale of the International Young Talent Music Competition Belgium took place on July 28, 2017 in the MA'GO Centrum in Antwerp. The organization would like to thank all applicants and jury members for their contribution.

Rewards:

1st prize: Performance with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra during the festival in August 2017 in Saas-Fee (Switzerland)
2nd prize: Full scholarship for the Master Classes of the International Academy of Arts (Summer 2017)
3rd prize: 50% scholarship for the Master Classes of the International Academy of Arts (Summer 2017)

Category C (under 20 years)

First round (video):

  • a fast movement of a violin concerto (minimum level: Mendelssohn, Bruch, Kabalevski, etc) (20')

  • The full concerto chosen in the 1st round (30')

Category A (under 13 years)

First round (video):

  • a work by Bach
  • one etude
  • one piece from the classical period (D. Scarlatti, M. Clementi, W.A. Mozart, etc)

(maximum 10 minutes)

Final round:

  • a recital program of maximum 12 minutes including at least two contrasting period styles
  • compulsory piece by W. Henderickx

Category B (under 17 years)

First round (video):

  • a work by Bach
  • one etude
  • one piece from the classical period (D. Scarlatti, M. Clementi, W.A. Mozart, etc)
  • one work of participant's free choice

(maximum 15 minutes)

Final round:

  • a recital program of maximum 18 minutes including at least two contrasting period styles
  • compulsory piece by N. Smeets

Category C (under 20 years)

First round (video):

  • a work by Bach
  • one etude by F. Chopin
  • one movement of a classical sonata (J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart or L. van Beethoven)
  • one work of participant's free choice

(maximum 20 minutes)

Final round:

  • a recital program of maximum 22 minutes including at least two contrasting period styles
  • compulsory piece by A. Craens
